A Celebration of the Life and Music of Luther Henderson, will be an all star benefit concert to fund the Luther Henderson Scholarship for young music students of color who are studying orchestration, arranging, conducting and composition. The endowed scholarship is administered in perpetuity by The Juilliard School. To inquire about scholarship applications go to:

Luther Henderson’s arrangements and orchestration, especially his special talent for creating music for choreographic movements, changed the music of Broadway forever. The Luther Henderson Scholarship to support the higher education of future orchestrators, arrangers, composers and conductors, will ensure that future generations of musical artists will continue to hone their talents in this tradition.

This once-in-a-lifetime concert entitled "Spreadin’ Rhythm Around", will be directed by the Tony Award winning director George C. Wolfe and will feature song stylist Nancy Wilson, the distinguished Canadian Brass Quintet, noted dancer Savion Glover, as well as several other great artists who worked with Luther during his illustrious career.
